Whether you are a beginner or experienced in the industry as a nail technician, figuring out where to begin or what steps to take next can be quite challenging. There are various treatment paths available for you to investigate as a student to determine what suits you & your business best. Additionally, there are multiple courses designed to help you specialise or broaden your business offerings to expand.

Below is a summary of what your career path including the elements associated with each course would be. You will also see explanations for enrolling in the course and whether it could be beneficial for the growth of your business.

Gel Manicure Application

This course is known as your entry level qualification if you're looking to start as a nail technician. With this course you do not need to be pre-qualified in beauty related qualification.

​

Pre qualification: Non needed

 

This course must be completed before you can move onto :

Builder In A Bottle Application Courses

​

Within this course you will learn in-depth theory & nail anatomy as well as business set up & structure and move onto your in-depth practical which will cover:

​

  1. Your tools & how to use them

  2. Cuticle work

  3. Nail shaping

  4. Nail prep

  5. Gel application

  6. Gel removal

Gel Pedicure Application

This course is known as your entry level qualification if you're looking to start as a nail technician but wanting to expand your business into pedicures. With this course you do not need to be pre-qualified in beauty related qualification.

 

Pre qualification: Non needed

 

This course must be completed before you can move onto :

E-File Pedicure Expert Courses

Within this course you will learn in-depth theory & nail anatomy as well as business set up & structure and move onto your in-depth practical which will cover:

​

  1. Your tools & how to use them

  2. Cuticle work

  5. Gel application

  6. Gel removal

Toe Nail Reconstruction

If you have decided to be qualified in gel pedicure application, toe nail reconstruction is worth considering if you are planning to expand into pedicures and offer clients an extra treatment to help reconstruct damaged toe nails. This treatment can be profiting to your pedicures as a add on.

 

Pre qualification: Gel Pedicure Application

 

This course must be completed before you can move onto :

Any Foot Health Care Courses​

As you would have previously covered in-depth theory & practical in your gel pedicure application course. This course purely focuses on a touch up of theory and your practical will cover:

​

  1. Nail Prep

  2. Different brands application to best suit your client

  3. Disposable application

  4. 2 different application for different client damage

  5. Product removal​​

Builder In A Bottle Conversion

This course has been designed as a conversion course. Conversion courses mean you are previously qualified in the prior step to this qualification.  Builder In A Bottle will help elevate your manicure clients and help widen your current client base. 

 

Pre qualification: Gel Manicure Application

 

This course must be completed before you can move onto :

Full Coverage Tips or Hard Gel Courses

​

Within this course you will learn in-depth theory around the BIAB product and then move onto your in-depth practical which will cover:

​

  1. Product introduction

  2. Placement introduction

  3. Application with no refinement

  4. Application with refinement 

  5. Silk wrap (breaks)

  6. Form fitting (extensions and fixes)

  7. Infills

  8. BIAB removal

Willow E-File Specialist Courses

This course has been designed to not only take your prep to another level but to also help you reduce the risk in your health long term ( avoiding repetitive strain & carpal tunnel syndrome) but to also help reduce your treatment times meaning you can take on more clients in a day.

 

Pre qualification: Gel Manicure Application OR Builder In A Bottle

These courses are fully optional and depending on your pre qualifications above depends on what course is best suited for you:

Hard Gel Conversion

This course has been designed as a conversion course. Conversion courses mean you are previously qualified in the prior step to this qualification.  Hard Gel will help elevate your builder in a bottle clients who are wanting to keep a longer natural nail but may have issues with the product breakdown (breaks).

 

Pre qualification: Builder In A Bottle

 

This course must be completed before you can move onto :

Polygel or Acrylics

Within this course you will learn in-depth theory around the Hard Gel product and then move onto your in-depth practical which will cover:

  1. Hard gel products, brands & brushes

  2. ​Product consistency & use

  3. ​Step by step routine Using a brush 

  4. ​Hard gel product 1 technique

  5. ​Hard gel product 2 technique

Full Coverage Tip Conversion

This course has been designed as a conversion course. Conversion courses mean you are previously qualified in the prior step to this qualification.  Full coverage tips not only elevates your business into express extensions but also widens your client base and allows you to starting more creative with nail art.

 

Pre qualification: Builder In A Bottle or Hard Gel

 

This course must be completed before you can move onto :

Polygel or Acrylics

Within this course you will learn in-depth theory around the Full Coverage Tip product and then move onto your in-depth practical which will cover:

Acrylic Course

This course has been designed as a full 2 day in-depth course. Acrylics is a technique that can take a while to master so students need more support on this course vs other courses. Once you have been pre qualified in your extension route you may want to consider acrylics as a longterm aspect for clients who are always coming back regularly for full coverage tips.  

 

Pre qualification: Hard Gel

 

This course must be completed before you can move onto :

Acrygel

Within this course you will learn in-depth theory & nail anatomy as well as in-depth theory covering:

​

  1. Acrylic Introduction

  2. ​Bead work

  3. ​Blend work

  4. ​Tip application

  5.  Nail shape

  6. ​Monomer & brush ratio

  7. ​Form fitting (more in-depth)

  8. ​Acrylic application

  9. ​Reverse french

  10. ​Ombre

  11. ​Gel polish application

Dual Forms Conversion 

This course has been designed as a conversion course. Conversion courses mean you are previously qualified in the prior step to this qualification.  Dual forms are another way of offering extensions to a client & worth having in your back pocket if your client doesn't get on with hard gel, full coverage tips,  and acrylics. 

 

Pre qualification: E-File or Builder In A Bottle or Hard Gel

 

This course must be completed before you can move onto :

Acrygel

Within this course you will learn in-depth theory & nail anatomy as well as in-depth theory covering:

  1. Dual Form introduction

Skill Building

This course has been designed for students who hold a pre qualification in a "skill above" but have been qualified for 6 months or 3+ years and want to refresh in a skill.

 

However this course is not designed for students who are inactive in their pre qualification for 3+ years. I would recommend re doing a course in the skill your looking to skill build in to keep up with industry standards & product knowledge. 

 

Pre qualification: All of the above

This course is built for you to book in "X" amount of hours you feel you would need and as many skill building subjects you want to cover, this could be from:
